Nottingham Playhouse is situated in the Castle Zone of Nottingham City Centre, just off Derby Road near St Barnabas’ Cathedral. We are easily accessible by bus, train, tram and 40 minutes from East Midlands Airport. Read on to find out more.

Trent Barton – Zigzag

Zigzag tickets entitle you to use any Trent Barton bus after 9am, changing as often as you like from just £6. Tickets can be bought on the bus on the day of travel.

NET – Event Ticket

There are no parking worries when you travel with NET Trams. For all our shows they offer free parking at their designated Park and Ride stops and just £2.50 return travel.

We are a three minute walk from the Royal Centre stop, or a five minute walk from the Old Market Square stop.


The theatre is a 15 minute walk from Nottingham Station, which is operated by East Midlands Railway. There are regular direct services from London St. Pancras, Leicester, Loughborough, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Crewe, Derby, Worksop, Mansfield, Lincoln, Norwich and Peterborough. Parking is available in the NCP car parks at St James Street and Mount Street (a short walk from the theatre) at a special discounted rate of £6.40, for up to 24 hours. Simply present your parking ticket to the front of house staff at the sweet counter, who will validate it to entitle you to the reduced rate on return to your vehicle.

On-street parking around Wellington Circus (Zone 1) is £2 from 6pm – 8pm (increasing to £2.40 per hour from 8am – 8pm from 23 January 2020) and a flat rate of £2 between 8pm – 10pm (increasing to £4.80 from 23 January 2020). Please note that this area is changing to become a cashless parking zone using the Ringo App for payments. To find out more, and to download the app, please visit the City Council website.

Other accredited Park Mark Award car parks offering reduced rate evening parking are available on Upper Parliament Street and Talbot Street.
