Dig into the history of Nottinghamshire’s mines with Bob Bradley, retired Nottinghamshire mining surveyor and author of a History of Mining in 9 Volumes.
Bob’s fascination with mining history began in the early 1950s. From his early days as an Apprentice Surveyor in the Teversal group of pits, to his final role as Senior Surveyor at Nottinghamshire’s Headquarters, Bob documented his experiences and knowledge of the mining industry into a 9 volume collection which sheds light into the underground world left by the coal miners of the past.
We’re delighted to welcome Bob to the Playhouse to share his extensive knowledge of Nottinghamshire’s mining history and the wider UK industry. Join us before the evening performance of Wonderland on Monday 12th February to hear Bob’s first-hand stories, anecdotes and memories from his days in the mines.
Bob is also a founding member and active volunteer at Bilsthorpe Heritage Museum. He will talk about the museum and the work that it does to keep the history of mining alive.
Pre-show talk from 6.15pm – 7pm
