As part of the Freedom in Air, Rhiannon Slade will facilitate a conversation to bring together a diverse range of communities and voices to discuss themes of modern day war time as impacted on the people of Nottingham.
Reflections on the project Freedom in Air, the installation and series of workshops run by the artist at Nottingham Playhouse, will feed into the discussions with the audience. Panelists include Giles Croft, Director of The Kite Runner, Nottingham Playhouse, Representatives from The International Community Centre & Nottingham Afghan Community Centre, Nick Hayes Reader in History, Languages and International Studies Nottingham Trent University, Saira Lloyd, Curator Nottingham & Chief Executive New Art Exchange, Skinder Hundal.

Freedom in Air Exhibition
This event is part of Freedom in Air, a series of community-led workshops, debates and exhibitions inspired by The Kite Runner, exploring the innocent voices often lost in wartime. Due to the themes of The Kite Runner this event is suitable for ages 14+.
Digital Stage is a Digital Arts Programme by The Cutting Room, a curatorial organisation initiated by Jennifer Ross and Clare Harris, producing events to engage and inspire new audiences through digital new media, film and performance.
