Part of Nottingham Playhouse Pride
Write Pride festival proudly presents Bonnie and The Bonnettes: The BonBons Cabaret!
Did you leave a good job in the city? Are you sick of working for the man every night and day?
Well pour yourself a cup of ambition, yawn, stretch, and come alive because heaven really is a place on earth! Be a drag, be a queen, get out the shoes that were made for walking, for tonight we are going to do it our way!
In association with Alphabetti Theatre, Bonnie and The Bonnettes present The BonBons Cabaret on its debut national UK tour. The BonBons Cabaret is a safe environment that champions dangerous, alternative, queer performance work playing host to North East based queer collective The House of Love whilst featuring several local acts.
Step through the doors and who knows who you will meet. Will it be your hosts, drag trio Bonnie and The Bonnettes? Will it be our starlet on the rise singer/songwriter MXYM? Will it be the lip-syncing, burlesque babe that is Mama Rhi? Or will it be the appetising queen Vol-Au-Vent Love? Who knows? But there is one thing you can be sure of and that is a glitter-fuelled, foot stomping, pant wetting cabaret riot!
About Bonnie and the Bonnettes:
The BonBons Cabaret started in 2017 and is an evening hosted by Bonnie and The Bonnettes with a mission to facilitate a safe platform for dangerous, queer, and alternative performance work.
Bonnie and The Bonnettes are a theatre company based in the North East (Newcastle) and their work is sometimes about them, sometimes about other people, but mostly about the world they live in. They like it when audiences laugh. They like it when they think. They really like it when they do both at the same time. They want to share stories, challenge perceptions, and have a good time whilst doing it. Their work is loud, fun, and unapologetic.
