The Wallace Collection perform an entertaining cross-section of brass music including classic favourites from Malcolm Arnold and Jim Parker, together with an historical interlude of brass chamber repertoire performed on the period instruments for which the music was originally written.
Led by John Wallace, renowned international trumpet soloist, leading arts educationalist, composer, conductor and former principal of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, The Wallace Collection brass ensemble has been reborn for the 21st Century.
Combining master musicians with a passion for promoting the diverse world of brass music, The Wallace Collection aims to inspire, entertain, develop, educate and transform this vital musical genre. The love for the complete spectrum of brass music from its origins, through its vibrant traditions, to ensuring its continuing vitality in our contemporary world, is the foundation of the ensemble’s credo.
Through pursuing a well-focussed strategy, The Wallace Collection will continue to combine live performance with interactive musical collaborations; bespoke product development; seminal recording projects; the publication of new works and transcriptions of significant historical milestones; and the provision of accessible educational outreach through presentations, master-classes and demonstrations for all ages.
