One show. Two moms on stage. Three kids in the dressing room. With no bedtime routine, yet the show must go on. Or must it?
Notnow Collective ruthlessly examine what happens when motherhood meets the rest of life. Most exhilarating time of life can also be very lonely: sleep is for the weak, sex is happening to someone else, career is for those who can afford childcare. Everyone else seems to be having the perfect lifestyle, and perfect kids. Hot tea at playgroups becomes the main drive for getting out of the house. Ever-changing body-shapes, squirting breasts, and the hormones that are running as wild as the kids. And all that whilst singing “The Wheels of The Bus” in a loop, when all you can think of is a big, fat glass of red.
Witness Wonderwoman: The Naked Truth in which the two worlds ultimately collide. To work or not to work, that is the question for two actors on-stage and two moms off-stage. Their ambition did not disappear when they had kids. Both equally fight for their attention.
Tina Hofman and Kristina Gavran are both Croatian artists living in Midlands. They co-founded Notnow Collective with the aim to challenge what we know of parenting, identity and family. They create work for adult audiences to which they welcome babies.
