Journeys is a varied programme of drama, dance and song performed by young people from firstSight Performing Arts and Rollo Academy. These include a devised, lively telling of the early life of the great storyteller Roald Dahl; a thought-provoking drama about a group of disillusioned young women who attempt to form a new type society on a platform out at sea; and some of the most impressive youth dance in the East Midlands.
firstSight Performing Arts offers a range of workshops and performance opportunities for young people and adults to support skill development and creativity. Members nurture their interests, rise to challenges and incorporate a whole range of art forms within original creative projects.
The Rollo Academy of Performing Arts first opened its doors in 1974, and since then students have won countless awards in dance festivals and competitions around the East Midlands, and many have gone on to successful careers in the profession, including earning major West End roles. More recently the academy has introduced singing and drama to it’s curriculum, and now offers a broad range of classes to all ages and abilities.
