Details

Amplify present three exciting works in progress. Come and witness the birth of a new show and be part of a conversation which helps theatre-makers develop their work.

The Glad Game

Phoebe is an actor. From her early impressions of Dolly Parton to roles at The National Theatre, acting has defined who she is.

In November 2018 Phoebe was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour in the area that controls speech, language and memory.

This is Phoebe’s story of finding herself in the bleakest of times, of finding gladness in the saddest of moments and how who and what you love can pull you through.

Aftershock

Meet Corporal Victoria Dover. After serving her second tour of combat in Afghanistan with a platoon of men, she has finally returned home. Yet the joys of home soon wear off, and she finds herself trapped between the Frontline and Civvy Street. Memories, battle scars and faces all resurface. She needs to share them.

Me, Nic & Jo

Meander Theatre is a Nottingham based company working alongside learning disabled creatives to provide professional level theatre opportunities.

Me, Nic & Jo has been created following 8 days of workshops with 29 learning disabled adults across the East Midlands & writer Vanessa Oakes (Bold Text writers). We follow 3 learning disabled women  as they reveal their struggles with  making, breaking & keeping friendships throughout their lives. We meet them at a time when they are grappling with how their changing lives are impacting  on their once close  friendship.
