An evening of Romantic literature at Thrumpton Hall

Miranda Seymour in conversation with Helen Edmundson

Monday 16 April at 7.30pm

Thrumpton Hall - Tickets £45 (Backstage Pass £36)

We are delighted to be hosting a very special fundraising event at the beautiful 17th century country house, Thrumpton Hall, owned by celebrated novelist, biographer and Mary Shelley expert, Miranda Seymour.

Guests will be welcomed with a glass of wine and a selection of delicious canapés in Thrumpton Hall’s magnificent drawing room. We will then proceed to the fabulous Baronial Hall, with its original wooden panelling and open fireplace for some very special entertainment.

Helen Edmundson, the acclaimed writer of our production of Mary Shelley (which opens at Nottingham Playhouse 17 April) will discuss the fascinating life of the Frankenstein author with Miranda Seymour, author of the ‘brilliant and enthralling’ Life of Mary Shelley.

Then, two actors under the direction of Giles Croft, will perform poetry and prose by Mary and Percy Shelley, Byron, and more.

Finally, you will have a a unique opportunity to have a short tour of Miranda Seymour’s ancestral home, Thrumpton Hall, which was at one time in the Byron family, and which still houses some relics from the Romantic era.

All profits will go towards supporting our education and outreach work, and developing our programme of world-class theatre, made in Nottingham.

Nottingham Playhouse is a registered charity (number 1109342).
