70th Anniversary Gala: The Madness of George III

Thursday 22 November 2018 at 6.30pm (Performance starts at 7.30pm)

Main House - Tickets: £87.50 - £70

This year we’re proud to celebrate the platinum anniversary of Nottingham Playhouse. For 70 years, our charity has been making world-class theatre in Nottingham, enthralling audiences and inspiring people from the local community to explore their creativity.

To celebrate, we’re hosting a special Gala performance of The Madness of George III. The evening will also include a drinks and canapé reception in the company of famous faces and an auction to raise funds to support the work we do in the theatre and beyond. Prizes up for auction so far include;

• Afternoon tea at Hart’s Nottingham with Mark Gatiss, Adrian Scarborough and Debra Gillett.
• A walk-on role in this year’s Nottingham Playhouse pantomime including 4 tickets to watch.
• Nottinghamshire County Cricket team signed cricket bat and shirt.
• Original and authenticated ‘Dead Funny’ programme from 1994, signed by Zoë Wanamaker and cast.
• Nottingham City Transport Double Decker driving experience for 4.
• Signed Sat Bains book, ‘Too many Chiefs only one Indian’
• ‘Mark Gatiss as George III’ drawing, by Mark Gatiss himself.

• A framed flyer for the Tennessee Williams play ‘Vieux Carre’, for its Nottingham Playhouse European premiere in 1978, signed by Tennessee Williams himself and kindly donated by Tom Huggon, Deputy Lord Lieutenant.

You can bid on the Mark Gatiss drawing and the Vieux Carre flyer as part of our online auction here.

Your support will help propel our creative and charitable work so we can continue to inspire and involve audiences and theatre practitioners of all ages for another 70 years.

Join us in the company of Andrew Scott, Kenneth Alan Taylor and a host of other famous faces on 22nd November. Our first auction lot will be hosted by Mark Gatiss himself.

The dress code for the evening is ‘dress up, dress down, dress fabulous!’

Please arrive for 6.30pm.
