Part of The Party Somewhere Else Festival
For everything you never knew you needed to know about periods, there’s science comedian and sex educator Chella Quint.
Her five-star show is a bloody funny period comedy about breaking taboos and ending period poverty with ad-busting, craftivism and a bleeding ridiculous conga line. As heard on BBC Radio 4’s A Bleeding Shame and Woman’s Hour, charmingly clever Chella deconstructs menstrual stigma with wit, craftivism and brute force, joyfully inviting audiences to hang ten on a crimson wave.
Taboo-breaking period comedy for menstruators and non-menstruators of all genders. ‘Bloody awesome for all the right reasons’ (ScotsGay.co.uk). ‘Funny and endearing… a clever comic’ (BroadwayBaby.com). ‘This show shouldn’t just be on at the Fringe, it should be on the curriculum’ **** (ThreeWeeks). ‘With her games, props and jokes, Quint seems to work some sort of magic’ (Guardian). ‘Chella Quint is a force of nature’ (Shami Chakrabarti). #periodpositive
This show will be a Relaxed Performance and BSL Interpreted by Helen Tagg.
New for 2019 – The Party Somewhere Else ticket fund
In 2019 we’ve extended our Outreach work to ensure as many people as possible are able to access our events. We’ve put some money aside to create a fund for people who would like to attend our events but cannot afford a ticket. If you would like to attend one of our events but cannot afford a ticket, email email@example.com, or call/text 07375665140 with your ticket request (max 2 tickets per request) and we’ll book and pay for tickets for you and arrange for you to collect them. We’ll keep doing this as long as there is money available.
We’ve put some money in the pot, and you can too – if you’d like to contribute and cover the cost of an extra ticket (or tickets!) for someone else, you can make a one-off donation or sign up to contribute monthly. You’ll enable us to offer more free tickets to people who might not otherwise be able to attend. In other words, with your help, more people can come to the party. And we will love you forever for it, we promise. You can donate money to the ticket fund via a Paypal transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org or via Patreon.com/thepartysomewhereelse.
