Join the Nottingham Playhouse Youth Theatre this summer to create a performance of Holloway Jones. For two weeks you will be working with Nottingham Playhouse professionals to bring this exciting and relevant story to life. At the end of the two weeks of rehearsal, we will be presenting a public performance of our piece in the Neville Studio.
No previous experience needed so if you love drama come and experience a summer to remember.
Holloway Jones has always dreamt of becoming an Olympic BMX champion. But first she must break the cycle of crime and prison that is expected of her and quickly discovers there are some challenging potholes between her and her life’s ambition.
This exciting coming of age story takes us on a ride with Holloway that leads her through feelings of ambition, loss and love.

Tae Campbell, 16, from Bulwell has already applied to be part of Holloway Jones. She said: “I got involved with drama when I decided to study it at GCSE level. And in Year 10, I decided to join Bulwell Youth Theatre, which is run by Nottingham Playhouse. I never thought I’d get the chance to perform so much.”
“It makes you feel really good about yourself, it definitely increased my confidence. Before I got involved with drama I was really shy and struggled to speak out. It really has changed my life.”
“What’s really amazing is that you make new friends and get to meet so many new people who aren’t at school with you. These are people who I know I will stay in contact with. I’d say to any young person, get involved. Give it a try. It’s brilliant and you get so much from it.”
