Club Encore is a friendly theatre club for the over 50s who want to engage with theatre more closely. Each session will focus on a different talk, workshop or Q&A session with a range of freelance art practitioners and industry professionals, alongside Allie Spencer, Nottingham Playhouse’s Education Officer. All are welcome and activities are suitable for everyone.

Sessions will take place on the second Tuesday of every month 1:30pm – 3:30pm from September 2016 until June 2017.

Free-lance Director Sarah Stephenson visits to talk about her work in Sri Lanka with the Rosie May Foundation, a Nottingham based charity seeking to change lives. In the second part of the session Sarah will talk about her newly funded project on WW1 and will run some short practical exercises that explore this topic.

Shakespeare expert Alix Manning-Jones returns to Club Encore to talk about Nottingham Playhouse’s Shakespeare Schools Massive and to lead a workshop based on Romeo and Juliet.

All workshop based activities will be fully accessible, but members can elect to observe if they feel more comfortable with this.
