In addition to our usual in-person Club Encore sessions, these special online In Conversation With… events will take place on Zoom and are a chance to meet members of the Nottingham Playhouse team, as well as fascinating industry professionals.

Tuesday 22 September – Jess Temple
Jess is an established actress from Nottingham, including playing in our own productions of The Madness of George III and The Merchant of Venice. Her work also includes: Romeo & Juliet (Insane Root), The Mikado (King’s Head/Charles Court Opera), Robin Hood (New Mutiny Theatre), Who Cares (The Lowry/Lung Theatre), Medea (Bristol Old Vic), Peter Pan (National Theatre). On TV, she has appeared in Martin’s Close and Doctors for the BBC.
Jess is also an experienced voiceover artist.

Tuesday 27 October – Kate Spencer
Kate, amongst many talents, has recently played Grace Vickers in Coronation Street – filming during lockdown. Kate trained at Rose Buford College and works professionally as an Actor on stage and screen, Lecturer, Creative Mentor and Workshop Facilitator. She loves incorporating movement and physicality with language, to build confidence, communication and characterisation, and to help build bridges where spoken language may be a barrier. Performing with and for the community is at her core and she strongly believes having the freedom to play is an essential part of creative learning!

Tuesday 24 November – Jack Quarton
Jack trained at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and works as an actor-musician and composer/musical director. He has appeared at Nottingham Playhouse in Assassins, Wonderland and Coram Boy (also Associate Director). Other theatre includes: Great Expectations, Hansel and Gretel, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland (Derby Theatre); An August Bank Holiday Lark (Northern Broadsides); Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest, Swallows and Amazons (Storyhouse, Chester/Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre); Ovid’s Metamorphoses (Pants on Fire); Alice in Wonderland (Octagon Theatre, Bolton); The Master and Margarita (Lodestar Theatre Co.); On the Mend (Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham) Film includes: Peterloo (Thin Man Films/Film 4) His work as a composer/MD includes A Christmas Carol (Derby Theatre), Assistant MD for Wonderland (Nottingham Playhouse/Northern Stage), choral arranger for Everything is Possible (York Theatre Royal/Pilot Theatre), Arranger/MD for Ovid’s Metamorphoses (Pants on Fire), Assistant MD for Ovid Unplugged (BYMT), and MD/Conductor for Songs for a New World (InSTEP Theatre).

Tuesday 22 December – Pantomime
At least one of the cast of our festive pantomime will be online to talk about their career and how the experience this year may be different from previous years. A lovely chance, three days before Christmas, to join us for some festive cheer and a glass of virtual (or actual!) online bubbly.
