ARTIST DEVELOPMENT: Amplify
An update from Craig, our Artist Development Producer:
I hope you’re all keeping well in these trying times.
Here are a few links you might find useful and interesting over the coming weeks:
At the very heart of the East Meets West network is your new community hub. It’s an online space (away from the distractions of other social media platforms) where you can meet and share knowledge with others working in the Midlands’ independent theatre sector. Whether you’re an administrator, composer, designer, director, dramaturg, evaluator, facilitator, funder or fundraiser, general manager, marketer, musician, performer, producer, production or stage manager, programmer, technician, theatre-maker, writer… or anyone else who helps to get independent theatre in front of audiences, this hub is yours. Look after yourselves and each other.
All the very best,
Artist Development at Nottingham Playhouse.
In recognition of the vast talent that exists within the region and the central role Nottingham Playhouse plays in the artistic ecology, we re-imagined the opportunities and resources we provide local theatre-makers and created our Artist Development Programme Amplify.
We want artists from this area to flourish. We want to support and build theatre-makers who are full of potential, who have talent and creativity, and who are resilient. We want Nottingham Playhouse to be a hub for artists and are committed to developing a network where ideas can be shared, challenged and grown.
Amplify is three things:
For artists to build a relationship with Nottingham Playhouse and other creatives, and take advantage of offers, discounts and access to spaces in the building.
Ways for artists to develop their professional craft and platform their work.
Where we strategically partner with other organisations to support artists from the East Midlands.
Who is Amplify for?
Professional theatre-makers at any stage of their career who feel that we may be able to support their development. An artist could be someone starting out post-education, early in their career, someone who has been making professional work for a while or extremely experienced. We support individual artists AND theatre companies or collectives. This programme is only for those wishing to work professionally in theatre AND who originate from or currently reside in the East Midlands region (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire).
