Three half marathons in support of Playhouse 50:50 Appeal

Monday 30th September 2013

On Sunday, CAST’s Deli Manager, Kersti Fourcin, former colleague Charley Calpin and Backstage Pass and Neville Studio Volunteer, Rosy Ross, took part in the Robin Hood Half Marathon in aid of our Playhouse 50:50 appeal.

Playhouse 50:50 was launched to celebrate Nottingham Playhouse’s 50th birthday, this year. The aim is to raise enough money in order to give away 50 free tickets across 50 performances throughout 2013 – that’s 2,500 tickets in total! These tickets are being donated to individuals, charities and community groups whose circumstances mean that a trip to the theatre is not ordinarily possible.

Kersti and Charley hoped to raise £400 to enable 50 young people to experience the joy of the Nottingham Playhouse pantomime for the first time. However, thanks to the generosity of CAST deli customers, friends and colleagues they have almost made twice that amount (£754 at the time of writing). This means that at least 94 young people will be able to come and enjoy Jack and the Beanstalk this year.

Rosy wanted to raise £250 and, incredibly, she too exceeded her target (£356.20 at the time of writing). On her Just Giving page, Rosy explains why she chose to support Nottingham Playhouse and our 50:50 Appeal: “Because it’s a really excellent theatre that is proud to be an active member of the community. Through their performance choices, the open events around each show, their drive to keep ticket prices down and their work to support local artists and performers, the Playhouse welcomes everyone and clearly values the audience as much as the cast.”

Playhouse 50:50 is a rolling appeal so you can still sponsor Kersti and Charley at and Rosy at
