The Ashes Press Launch at Trent Bridge
On a glorious sunny morning a few Mondays ago, we held the Press Launch for our autumn play The Ashes at Trent Bridge.
The Ashes is a brand new play that tells the story of Nottinghamshire cricket hero Harold Larwood and the infamous Bodyline tour of 1932. The play has been written by Nottingham-based writer Michael Pinchbeck (The White Album) and will be directed by Artistic Director, Giles Croft.
Also present at the Launch was Notts player Charlie Shreck and ex-Notts player and Director of the Belvoir Castle Cricket Trust, Darren Bicknell. The Trust will be hosting a gala performance of The Ashes followed by a silent auction and raffle on Tuesday 13 September from 7pm. All proceeds will go to the Belvoir Castle Cricket Trust who aim to encourage participation of cricket in rural communities and create access to cricket and the countryside for disadvantaged young people. Tickets costs £39.50 – £45 and can be booked through our Box Office.
