The Ashes Cast visit Larwood & Voce's hometown

Wednesday 10th August 2011

The cast of The Ashes made a special trip up the M1 to visit Harold Larwood and Bill Voce’s hometown of Kirkby-in-Ashfield last week. Larwood and Voce are the main characters of our latest production The Ashes – which explores the issues and passions that exploded during the most intense of sporting controversies – the 1932/3 Bodyline Tour.

Stopping off at Larwood’s statue in the centre of the town, the cast then made their way onto his house at Nuncargate and finished the day back in Nottingham at Larwood and Voce’s homeground – Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club at the world famous Trent Bridge.

When they’re not touring the Nottinghamshire countryside or rehearsing, you may spot the cast practicing their cricket outside the Playhouse in Wellington Circus!
