Now that Aladdin and Widow Twankey have taken their magic carpet and flown away from Nottingham Playhouse, we’d like to update you with some other magical news.
During the pantomime season, we were aiming to raise £10,000 for our SHINE appeal to sustain free community youth theatres across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We’re delighted to announce that we ultimately raised £11,600! This will directly support the running costs of two youth theatres for one year and means that children who normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to take part in theatre will now have the chance.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this appeal during the pantomime season by making a donation when booking tickets, through making a donation after watching Aladdin, or by sponsoring Cressida for her cycling challenge.
The SHINE youth theatres will also be taking part in a special performance at the Playhouse on Thursday 26th January. Tickets can be booked here and the £5 ticket price will directly go to the SHINE appeal.
