Nottingham Playhouse is now delivering Arts Award to our SHINE Community Youth Theatres

Wednesday 18th October 2017

Nottingham Playhouse is now delivering Arts Award to our SHINE Community Youth Theatres in Nottingham.

We have local youth theatres in Bulwell, Bramcote, Mansfield, Netherfield, Newstead, Sherwood and Chilwell. All of our community youth theatres are free to attend and have been created through donations to Nottingham Playhouse’s SHINE appeal.

Our youth theatres provide young people with the opportunity to work together to create theatre, grow in confidence, learn life-enhancing skills and discover their unique voices to tell their own stories.

We are now delivering Arts Award to our youth theatre participants which provides an even greater opportunity to develop skills and gain a national qualification that enables young people to progress into further education and employment.

Arts Award supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through setting personal challenges in an art form of their choice.

“Arts Award is an exciting opportunity for young people to develop their creative and leadership skills, using a flexible frame work it embraces all interests and abilities. Arts Award allows us to support our young participants to become theatre makers and champion their talent.”
Orla O’Connor Participation Officer (Arts Award)

We are delivering Arts Award Explore, Bronze and Silver, with the hope that Gold delivery will start in Autumn 2018. All levels allow participants to expand art form knowledge, create a portfolio of work, gain new skills and a qualification.
