We’re pleased to announce the complete cast for Noises Off, our much-anticipated production of Michael Frayn’s classic comedy, to be directed by Blanche McIntyre.
In Noises Off, a theatrical troupe disastrously attempts to mount a production of the deliberately dreadful Nothing On. As relationships develop – and crumble – the cast blunder through rehearsals, botch lines and generally fail to keep the drama strictly to the stage – all with hilariously excruciating consequences!
Playhouse Panto-goers will share in our delight that John Elkington, last seen here as Sarah the Cook in Dick Whittington, will be returning to the stage this April as the hapless actor Frederick Fellows.
He will be joined by Carla Mendonça as the suitably named Dotty and Patrick Osborne as jealous Garry. Both actors starred together in the hit kids TV show My Parents are Aliens.
Temperamental director Lloyd will be played by Orlando Wells (As If, The History Boys), who finds himself in a troubled love-triangle with the self-absorbed Brooke (Sophia Nomvete) and highly strung Poppy, played Ritu Arya, who was last seen at Nottingham Playhouse in Mermaid. The cast is rounded out by Brian Lonsdale as super-stressed stage manager Tim, Robin Bowerman as Selsdon, a classical actor with a liking for whisky, and Becci Gemmell as the reliable Belinda who is desperately trying to hold the company together.
