We would like to introduce you to Ursula, Paul, Natalie and Kev who are all members of our In House theatre group – based in the heart of Nottingham.
Created for people who have experienced mental ill health, homelessness or substance abuse, In House provides a comfortable, supportive and creative space so that people can express themselves through performing arts.
Our group has gone on to share a performance with friends, family and members of the public in our Neville Studio. The work is a great example of how theatre groups can help people overcome personal barriers and re-engage with their community.
On 3 July 2019, this film was also used in an exhibition at Nottingham Contemporary as part of Multiple Disadvantage Day. It featured alongside other photography and films that told stories of real people from Nottingham and highlighted ways to reduce stigma.
In House is just one of the many ways that we strive to make performance and theatre accessible to all.
