This touching and uplifting new play by acclaimed playwright Amanda Whittington takes you deep into the joy and heartache of hero worship.
Based on the autobiographical memoir of critically acclaimed author Susie Boyt, My Judy Garland Life tells the story of growing up under the spell of Judy Garland.
Rehearsals are now well underway for the production, which is being directed by Kath Rogers.
The cast is led by musical theatre star Sally Ann Triplett, who will be taking on the role of Judy Garland. A Judy Garland fan herself, Sally Ann has appeared in numerous West End productions including; Cats, (New London Theatre), Chicago, (Adelphi Theatre), Guys and Dolls, (Piccadilly Theatre), The Rocky Horror Show (UK Tour) and Mamma Mia (The Prince of Wales and Gielgud Theatres).
In the role of Susie Boyt, is Faye Elvin, a graduate from LAMDA. Faye’s recent credits include: Around the Houses (Oval Theatre); Emma (BBC); and The Other Boleyn Girl (BBC Films).
The cast is completed by three actor-musicians: Stefan Bednarczyk, well known to Playhouse audiences for his role in Forever Young, plays Mr S; Delroy Brown, who you may recognise from the popular ITV series Scott & Bailey, plays Mr T and William Oxborrow (A Clockwork Orange, Hamlet, RSC; Spooks, Kudos TV) stars as Mr L.
