The League of Youth - Fully Cast

We now have a full cast for The League of Youth. From punks to policemen they have played all kind of characters and now these actors are about to embark on being politicians and their aides… What could be harder?!

David Acton played Doctor Görtler in I Have Been Here Before Dr Jacques Ballard in Vertigo in 2008 and is returning to Nottingham Playhouse to play the character of Lundestad.

Phillip Bretherton last appeared at Nottingham Playhouse in Breaking the Silence and will be playing Chamberlain Bratsberg

Sam Callis (pictured above) will tread the boards for the first time at Nottingham Playhouse. He has had roles in London’s Burning where he played Adam Benjamin. He played Doctor Mike Banner in The Royal until he left in 2007 to join the cast of The Bill. He has also had roles in Holby City and Doctor Who and will be playing Stensgard.

Robin Kingsland’s adapted version of All Quiet On The Western Front successfully toured in 2008. Since then Robin has performed at Nottingham Playhouse in Steven Berkoff’s adaptation of On The Waterfront and as a disgruntled punk rocker, complete with mohican, in Andy Barrett’s Garage Band. Robin will be playing the part of Monsen.

Mark Jardine’s association with Nottingham Playhouse began in 2009 when he played the role of Danny in Garage Band. Mark recently played his future self in our production of Forever Young and will be playing Aslaksen in The League of Youth.

Chris Nayak is back at Nottingham Playhouse after playing Tony Lumpkin in She Stoops to Conquer and George in Arthur and George in 2010. Previously Chris has performed at the Playhouse in our co-production with Shared Experience of A Passage to India. Chris is cast as Erik/Bastian.

Jon Rumney is making a welcome return to Nottingham Playhouse after playing Gregory Solomon in The Price alongside Robin Kingsland in 2009. He also performed here in 2001, as Copin in Steven Berfoff’s Ritual In Blood. Jon will be playing the part of Daniel Heire.

Russell Bentley returns to Nottingham Playhouse having performed here in 2005 as Prince in Chicken Soup with Barley . He is cast as Dr Fjeldbo.

We also welcome newcomers to the Playhouse, Bridie Higson playing Thora, Deborah Stewart playing Madam Rundholen and Victoria Yeates playing Selma/Ragna.
