We’ve launched a huge costume sale to raise funds for our work with the community
The items include some of the glitziest and most flamboyant frocks worn by John Elkington – our famous pantomime dame. Alongside these are also pieces worn by the cast of the musical Sweet Charity, including gorgeous satin and sequin numbers, with accompanying headdresses.
The costumes are bespoke, handmade and high quality pieces that are perfect for producers, schools, dance academies, dramatic societies or super-fans of the productions and their actors. The sale also forms part of our aim to re-use and sell-on materials wherever they can; helping to reduce waste.
Nottingham Playhouse Trust Ltd is a registered charity, and we rely on fundraising to support many of our projects. These include wide-reaching participation schemes, youth theatres and our Amplify programme – which seeks to inspire and support theatre-makers from the East Midlands.
Stephanie Sirr, Chief Executive for Nottingham Playhouse, said: “Our costumes are really beautiful and all made by experts right here in Nottingham. We’re offering the chance to buy some of your favourite costumes from your favourite shows and raise money for our charitable community work.”
Our sale launched on Thursday 5th March, with new rails being added over the course of the month. More information can be found on our eBay page.
