Christmas Gift Guide 2018

Thursday 29th November 2018

Buy your friends or loved ones tickets for a show you know they’ll love… or give them vouchers so they can decide for themselves. And if you really want to treat them, go one better and buy them a year-long gift of a Playhouse Pass membership. There’s lots of options for all tastes and budgets this Christmas.

Playhouse Pass

Our membership scheme delivers a whole year of entertainment. Give a gift membership and you’ll be giving great nights out with great discounts. Our annual membership starts at £35 with discounts of up to 25% for two people. So buy a membership for your Mum, and she’ll be able to take your Dad, or a friend, or YOU along too with the same epic savings!

With new shows going on sale every month, members can be at the front of the queue for those shows that are bound to sell out, thanks to our priority booking period. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Click here to find out all the benefits of a Nottingham Playhouse membership.

Gift Vouchers

Got a friend or family member who’s difficult to buy for? Let THEM choose from the entire Nottingham Playhouse programme with a Gift Voucher – available from the Box Office and online for whatever value you’d like to give. No need to stick to denominations of £5 or £10 – if you want to give a Gift Voucher to the value of £23.76, you can! Even better, the gift voucher arrives immediately via email as part of your receipt – perfect if you’ve left it a bit late! Click here to find out more about Gift Vouchers.

The Playhouse Panto

Nottingham Playhouse is renowned for our Panto, and this year is no different! From Sherwood Forest to Nottingham Playhouse, our current Panto, Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood begins today! With shows running into the new year, banish those January blues and treat your loved ones to a bit of glitter and sparkle. You can also buy tickets for next year’s panto, Sleeping Beauty, here.

We could all do with a good laugh every now and again, and we’ve got just the thing for that – some of the best comedians in the business will be gracing the Playhouse stage in 2019. In March, we have Henning Wehn and Nish Kumar, as well as Youtube sensations, Foil Arms and Hog. Reginald D Hunter comes to Nottingham in May, and Julian Clary returns in June.

Returning this January, we have Gecko with Missing, coming to Nottingham after touring Russia, China, Mexico and across the UK. Also in January, Lost Dog present Juliet & Romeo, a blend of dance, theatre and comedy directed by Olivier award-nominated Ben Duke.

If it’s pure, quality theatre you’re looking for, let us point you in the direction of 2019’s stellar line-up of drama.

Back by popular demand – join us this February for Wonderland by Beth Steel, a gripping play that takes a 360° look at the events of the 1984-85 miners’ strike. Expect tears and laughter in Shelagh Stevenson’s The Memory of Water in May; a hilarious and heart-breaking drama about what we fear most – losing someone both in life and death. In June, we bring you the story of four icons in One Night in Miami, directed by Associate Artist Matthew Xia (Shebeen)

Following on from Holes, if you are looking for something for the family in 2019, join us for Skellig in March and let your imagination take flight with David Almond’s modern classic.
