Calling all Dancers aged 13 – 15 years!
Has Nottingham got talent? We’re looking for exciting young dancers for this year’s pantomine Cinderella.
This is your chance to be part of Nottingham’s famous Playhouse pantomine, working alongside professional actors with choreographer Adele Parry and director Kenneth Alan Taylor.
We will be holding open auditions to select two teams of eight children to appear onstage as chorus/dancers.
To avoid disappointment please check carefully that you fulfil the requirements below:
- As a guideline to be of Grade Three standard in dance. It would also be useful to have some basic acrobatics, but not compulsory. To be able to respond quickly and accurately to the instructions given by the Choreographer.
- To be aged 13 on or before 25/11/11 and 15 years (16th birthday to be on or after 15/01/12).
- To be available for costume fittings after school on Thursday 29 September and Wednesday 18 October, for rehearsals from 31 October – 19 November as required, for technical rehearsals from 21 – 25 November, and for performances between 25 November – 14 January 2012 according to a rota which will be available during the rehearsal period. Please note that due to licensing rules the dancers will not be able to swap performances with their double in the other team.
There will be no payment for appearing as a chorus/dancer in this production, but travel expenses can be claimed up to £3.40 per day for rehearsals and shows. You will be expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the theatre.
Please call to book a slot on 0115 947 4361 and ask for Jane Eliot-Webb or email email@example.com.
Auditions are on Sunday 11 September at the Playhouse. The audition will last for approximately 45 minutes during which time you will be taught a couple of routines. You will need to bring ballet shoes, jazz shoes, tap shoes and appropriate dancewear. If you are unable to attend please call for an alternative slot.
The recall is on the evening of Friday 23 September when a final choice will be made.
