Following the success of our Enabled Upstart programme in 2014 and Barnardo’s UPSTART! in 2010, we are excited to announce the launch of Enabled UPSTART! 2015. This is a specially adapted version of our work experience programme that is designed for students aged 15 – 20 with physical and learning disabilities, enabling them to take part in a week’s work experience at Nottingham Playhouse.
From Monday 28 September to Friday 2 October 2015 participants will work full-time to create a short piece of theatre that will be performed at the end of the placement. The emphasis is on working together in a collaborative and creative way, and on making theatre with minimal technical facilities. Students will also have the opportunity to gain an overview of how the Playhouse works as an organisation, and to understand the career-paths available within a regional repertory theatre.
