Tributes to Alan Rickman

Thursday 14th January 2016

We’re all terribly sad to hear the news that Alan Rickman has died. He was an important part of the Nottingham Playhouse Theatre Company in 1992 when he made a huge impact with his portrayal of Hamlet. Before that in 1979 Alan had an early lead role in Antonio, adapted from Marston by Peter Barnes and co-directed by Barnes and Reeves (who was Artistic Director at the time). He was a terrific actor and will be much missed. Nottingham just lost its best ever sheriff.
