We are pleased to announce today that 1984, originally produced by Nottingham Playhouse and Headlong will transfer to London’s Almeida Theatre in February next year.

Since its world premiere at Nottingham Playhouse on 13 September the new adaptation of George Orwell’s classic text by Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan has received wide critical acclaim, achieving five star reviews in The Times, The Telegraph and The Guardian.

1984 is currently enjoying a hugely successful UK tour, which will culminate at West Yorkshire Playhouse on 16 November.

The entire cast will remain with the production for its run at the Almeida which begins on 8 February and concludes on 29 March. Priority Booking for Almeida Theatre members opens on 29 October and public booking follows on 5 November.
