Possessing a natural gift for melody and strong, emotive lyrics, Andy Whittle has firmly established himself as one of the best young songwriters in the UK.
Originally trained in classical music, a career as a concert pianist beckoned, until his piano teacher forbade him from playing his own compositions. Not surprisingly perhaps, he chose a different path. He is a crafter of modern folk songs, poetic lyrics with memorable melodies and whilst he’s been inspired by great songwriters, his style is quite unique revealing a sensitivity beyond his years.
