Brief Candles illuminates the passionate and lyrical relationship between dance and music, from the first creative spark to thrilling live performance.

A special performance of Simon Holt's Nigredo, choreographed by Richard Alston, forms the heart of the programme. It is framed by two new collaborations from choreographers Martin Lawrance and Darren Ellis, and spnm-shortlisted composers Evangelia Rigaki and Mark Bowden – who will create their works through a devising period during which they will be mentored by Holt and Alston.
