Another Audience with John Sergeant

John Sergeant, previously political editor of ITN and before that 30 years with the BBC has had a wide-ranging career, as a reporter covered conflicts in many parts of the world, including Vietnam, the Middle East and Southern Africa, before settling down as a political correspondent.
He often travelled with the prime minister of the day, including Margaret Thatcher and John Major as well as Tony Blair.  He has presented all the main news programmes on Radio 4, including the Today programme and The World at One. 
 In recent years he has been allowed to return to his first love in broadcasting: light entertainment, appearing as a guest in a wide variety of programmes, such as
 Have I Got News for You, Room 101, and the News Quiz on Radio 4.

 John has published his best-selling memoirs, Give Me Ten Seconds and also a book about Margaret Thatcher ( Maggie – now out in paperback ), who made him well known following the famous 'handbagging incident' outside the Paris Embassy twodays before she resigned in 1990.
