Whisky Galore! The Making of a Fillum
Friday 2 - Saturday 17 February 2007

When the SS Cabinet Minister runs aground in a patch of scotch mist, 50,000 cases of US-bound liquor are washed ashore. There's just one fly in the amber nectar: Captain Waggett of the Home Guard, and an Englishman to boot, who dutifully alerts HM Customs & Excise. With Whisky on the rocks, the race is onto conceal the precious cargo from the authorities.

Sir Compton Mackenzie's post-war bestseller was based on real events. Giles Croft directs his own spirited adaptation, taking inspiration from an incident which took place just hours before the start of filming for the Ealing comedy  and transfers this much-loved Highland caper to the stage.

In association with BV Productions

Starring Emmerdale's Richard Shelton and Brookside's Karen Drury
