Whose Shoes?

Whose Shoes?

by Mike Kenny

A play for 4 – 8 year-olds about what happened to Cinderella’s glass slippers

Little Eldemina loves to dance. She will dance for anyone who will watch! One day she is invited to perform for Queen Cinderella, who loves her dancing so much that she gives Eldemina her beautiful glass slippers. Eldemina is very happy.

Then, one day, her mother comes home with a little bundle. It’s Madeline, her new baby sister! But when Eldemina hears that Madeline will be a dancer too, she is determined she shall not wear the glass slippers. She throws them into the lake to make sure no-one else can ever wear them.

Her story is told by Imelda Baglady, who has a great deal of trouble with her own shoes (which keep arguing). She tells how Eldemina regrets throwing away the slippers, how she gets them back, and how she comes to love her little sister.

Whose Shoes? is a gentle, funny play about sibling rivalry, which features specially composed live music – and of course, dancing.
